New rows and Acolumns take their cell formats from the current row or column. Add Rows /Determines the number of rows you want to add. 0Choose from the pop-up menu to specify where to 2put the new rows. You can add rows above or below 8the current row or add them to the heading or footing. Add Columns 2Determines the number of columns you want to add. 0Choose from the pop-up menu to specify where to 5put the new columns. You can add columns to the left or right of the current column. Table menu > Resize Columns Dialog box where you can change the width of selected columns in a table. LYou can also resize a column by selecting a cell in the column and dragging its handle. To Width 4Changes the selected columns to the width specified r 8in the text box. The text box initially shows the width to "of the leftmost selected column. By Scaling .Scales the selected columns to the percentage 4specified in the text box. The columns retain their relative proportions. Table menu > Straddle (Unstraddle) Command that straddles (combines) and unstraddles cells. When you Sstraddle cells, the result is a single cell that is the size of the selected cells combined. PWhen you straddle selected cells, FrameMaker merges their contents into o Jthe new single cell. The content of each straddled cell begins in its own Eparagraph. You can straddle only cells that are the same type (body, u heading, or footing). >When you select a straddled cell, the command name changes to NUnstraddle. When you unstraddle selected cells, FrameMaker puts their Lcontents in the new upper-left cells. You can unstraddle more than one cell l at a time. Table menu > Convert to Table Table menu > Convert to Paragraphs The command in the menu changes to reflect the current selection. If text is h Gselected, the command is Convert to Table. If a table is selected, the Epa "command is Convert to Paragraphs. Convert to Table HDialog box where you can convert paragraphs to a table. This dialog box o Oalso appears when you import text files if you turn on Convert to Table in the 'Readin g Text File dialog box. Convert to Paragraphs for help on converting a table to paragraphs. Table Tag Specifies the table format. More t Table Format 8Lists the formats in the Table Catalog. If you select a lo 3format, its tag appears in the Table Tag text box. Treat Each Paragraph As 0Specifies how paragraphs should be divided into to cells. A Row with Cells Separated By Converts each 4paragraph to a row and specifies the character that separates text into cells. Uses the tabs in each paragraph to separate text into cells. Spaces Uses the number of spaces specified in *the text box to separate text into cells. Other Uses the character specified in the text box to separate text into cells. A Cell Converts each paragraph to a cell, creating 8Li 6the number of columns specified in the text box. This 9setting is useful for converting bulleted or other lists to tables. Moreto Heading Rows 3Specifies the number of rows in the heading of the | 2new table. If the text you re converting includes 1column headings, they will appear in these rows. Leave Heading Rows Empty 1Creates empty heading rows in the new table. Use n 8this setting if the text you re converting doesn t have ab 1column headings, but you intend to add them. You z 4can also add heading rows later, after the table is /created (see Rows or Columns Convert to Paragraphs KDialog box where you can convert a table to paragraphs. FrameMaker 9converts each cell in the table to a separate paragraph. OSee Convert to Table for help on converting paragraphs to a table. Row by Row 0Converts cells to paragraphs one row at a time, =starting with the top-left cell. First each cell in row 1 is @ /converted, then each cell in row 2, and so on. Column by Column 7Converts cells one column at a time, starting with the 9top-left cell. First each cell in column 1 is converted, 'then each cell in column 2, and so on. Edit menu > Copy Special > Table Column Width Command that copies the width of the selected table column to the HClipboard. You can then use the Paste command to paste the column width Hto another column in the same or another table. The copied column width ti ?remains on the Clipboard until you cut or copy something else. Dialog box where you specify what you want to delete from a table.
